Rag & Frass Farm was started in January of 2013 by resident farmtress Julia Asherman (with crucial farm-animal sidekicks Beb, Lil Brown, and Gargamel).  Born in Boston and schooled in Chicago, this yankee gem landed in rural Georgia in 2009 with degrees in printmaking and sculpture, and a passionate need to carve out a slice of the world for herself. After learning to farm from trial and (a lot) of error, she made peace with the fire ants and fell in love with the long growing season of the deep south. Julia's green thumb is inherited from her mother and grandmother, who kept gardens her whole life and fostered the love of the rural countryside in southern Vermont.
